(12) Time Travel TV

On a recent podcast posted on indiewire, Liz Shannon Miller and TV Critic Ben Travers talk about the new popularity with the idea of time travel coming back to television. There are two main TV shows out right now that focus on time traveling, including “Making History,” and “Time After Time.” Two deeper reasons as to why TV is bringing time travel into the mix is mentioned in the podcast. These reasons are because either people are feeling nostalgic, or want to escape to the past because they are tired of the present. I personally think it is a mix of both. With politics being the heart of most topics, it is refreshing to watch a TV show on something that can allow the mind to escape the craziness of the world for a little while. Either way, the show can act as these refreshing escapes and also makes for entertaining television not revolving around politics.
